ROLLING ON

Set upon a mission and the part they never mention, I’m now a man of many names
Some go through the motions but I crossed the oceans since have found some motions of my own
Though my heart it means good I’m huddled in the backwoods, making all the plans you know I make.
Once the strings are too fine, I’ll make the b-line,
I’m moved to tears by splendor-less displays

I had better keep, rollin’

I looked into the distance and in case you missed it
a thousand lights just faded out at once
Shouting from the rooftops to a ghost town all riled up I knew I’d better keep the peace

The eagle and the full moon will rise from the west soon deliver me to my land of sand and stone
Once I’m back to my place I’ll find it at my own pace, The backroads treat me like kin

I had better keep, rollin’ on

Looking Glass

I saw you standing behind the looking glass Take what you want but take it fast
I feel like dancing

It won’t be long until I’m back with you It won’t be long until I’m there
I’m there

This bird has landed the shadows cast
Take all the love you want baby it keeps flooding fast

It won’t be long until I’m back with you It won’t be long until I’m there
I’m there

I’m here I’m there
I’m everywhere
I’m in your dreams I’m in your wind and your trees I’m in the air that you breath baby
Won’t you let it out

Lucky Ones

The only winds we feel are the ones of change
A couple of kids in and out on the skids dreaming the night away

I hear the rolling thunder long after lightning strikes I don’t know the reason why

Taking it easy finally seeing we’re all a part of one
I’d rather be a stone in the sea than an idol in the sun

Eyes surprised by all the acts of times
The trouble with it in and out of orbit becomes the rising tides

I hear the rolling thunder long after lightning strikes I don’t know the reason why

Taking it easy finally seeing we’re all a part of one
I’d rather be a stone in the sea than a burnout in the sun

Taking it easy finally seeing we’re all a part of one
I’d rather be a stone in the sea than a burnout in the sun

We’re all a part of one
We’re all a part of one
We have the Willow, the light from the sun, We’re the lucky ones the lucky ones

Sweet Springs

Think I’ll sit and rest my bones low in my evening chair
I’ll follow you right into the colors that float in the air
Though I have a calm obsession with those changing eyes
The more that I see out in front of me the more that I want to get by

Who needs my love?
Who needs my love I know who I was thinking of

I need some warm affection and shade of a live oak tree
Now that we’re out of a long western drought let us drink from these sweet dripping springs

Who needs my love
Who needs my love
You know who I was thinking of

Spiritfalls

I keep seeing these reflections

Deep in the currents back to me

They walk among us living in our company

Down in the darkness down beneath the wake

I’ll turn these waters

You are scattered like light from a sunbeam piercing the heart of an old dream spinning me out

in the open

I keep on having these visions of a road

Deep in the desert my fires unfold

Their spirits wander

You are scattered like light from a sunbeam

Piercing the heart of an old dream

That’s spinning me out in the open, spinning me out in the open

You are scattered like light from a sunbeam

Piercing the heart of an oak tree

That tower if not for the pines, it’s spinning me out of my mind

Northwest Stars (Out of Tacoma)

Oh the Northwest stars in my eyes
Burning out together forever lost in the night I remember trying to get out of the rain

Do you feel me running Do you hear me coming

Out of Tacoma and into your arms now I’m always half the way there
If love is a gamble I’ll walk from the station I’m always half the way there

Know that tomorrow is drawn to the past
So I don’t look forward and I don’t look back

Do you feel me running Do you hear me coming

Out of Tacoma and into your arms now I’m always half the way there
If love is a gamble I’ll walk from the station I’m always half the way there

There there my love there there my love
In and out of your arms, in and out of your arms, in and out of your arms, in and out of your arms
Into your arms

Hillsides

I saw you yesterday in the sweet Texas sun
Hangin out on a hillside away from everyone
Here on a mountain slide where the bluebonnets ride Under skies of purple sea where the soul learns to speak Thunderously so thunderously where two become three I learn slowly it seems

Tired of running after me

Color wheel spinning and takes the old man away Oh let me see every moment of the day
14 seasons and reasons of in between
Gonna do what I say and say just what I mean Gonna be who I’ll be it’s not about me

I’m learning to see I have so many needs Countless it seems and trifling
I’m learning to love

Tired of running after me

The Widow

She was drifting he was free
They had something back in 1973
They once grew magic but it came to a halt It’s always tragic oh when love falls apart Don’t let it fall out of my heart

When the widow comes to bed and she clears her weary head she vows to take it easy
In the night when I get stoned I feel I’m not alone
I vow to keep the house and sweep the floors clean

I went running through a wildflower haze
I’m always drifting stuck in my hill country ways

When the widow comes to bed and she clears her weary head She falls unto the floor she knows there’s something more She wakes up from a dream
Did she wake up from a dream?

Strong Was The Night

I have crossed all the rivers shed my last and final fears
Thought I walked through the fires until I saw the smoke and mirrors Let me shine like a jewel under moon crested light
Help to keep these eyes open, til everything is out of sight

Oooh oh I could be

Strong like the night calm as the inland sea

I speak to the wind and the wind speaks to me..whispering

Now everything has a story and all things they must pass
Once it brought me strife and worry now at times it makes me laugh

Oooh oh I could be
Strong like the night Calm as the inland sea
My voice drowns in waves saying will you remember me Remember me...whispering

Sha la la la la la la

Golden Fleeces

I’m still coming back from yesterday on the heels of tomorrow's eyes

They keep talking bout me down the street you see they’re jamming up my skies Lead me far from the cover now take me down to where the water ends

Listen here I’ll do what you tell me to Just hold my heart in your fleeces of gold

If you stand too long in the river now, then you’re sure to drift away Run too fast through the wild nights, the one it comes but it never stays You followed me on up the hill now rest our bones in the western sun

Come on down I’ll do what you tell me to
Just hold me close to your fleeces of gold
I’ve seen the world and it’s shaken my confidence Get me out while the coast is still clear

I’ll tell you now when it all comes crumbling down grab a seat in the eye of my mind We’ll go down to the end of a gravel road serve me up some of that sweet country pie
